Abstract: The article discusses the geographical aspects of the use of papal provisions by Polish clergy in the late Middle Ages. It analyses how often papal favours were used in eff orts to obtain local or distant ecclesiastical benefi ces. It is shown at what distance from the place of origin of the benefi ciaries were the benefi ces sought, and it is discussed to what extent papal favours allowed the clerical careers to cross the administrative borders of provinces, voivodeships, districts, and dioceses.
