The Department of Historical Atlas of the Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences (https:\/\/ihpan.edu.pl\/en\/structure\/department-of-historical-atlas\/<\/a>) had been working on the series “Historical Atlas of Poland. Detailed maps of the 16th century’ ( https:\/\/ihpan.edu.pl\/en\/structure\/department-of-historical-atlas\/historical-atlas-of-poland-detailed-maps-of-the-16th-century\/<\/a>). This project ended in 2021, and among its results is the reconstruction of the administrative divisions of the Polish Crown. Subsequently, as part of the ‘Historical Atlas of Poland 2.0’ project, we proceeded with further work to make this data effectively available and to develop new data of a complementary nature. In response to the demands of the scientific community, we developed a number of layers with political-administrative divisions of Poland, e.g. for Prussia after the Third Partition (West Prussia, South Prussia, New East Prussia), the Duchy of Warsaw, the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Pozna\u0144. The data presented here had been developed on the basis of multiple rypes of sources (historical and old maps\/atlases) and were not harmonised, either in terms of attributes (names of units) or geometry. The differences, especially spatial, which arise between them are the result of the lack of this harmonisation and the various sources of data compilation. Harmonisation of the resource is planned as asubsequent work. Details of the individual layers are included in their metadata.
